Enjoy being part this wonderful annual event in Washington, D.C.!

The presentations at the Tidal Basin Welcome Area and ANA Performance Stage during the Washington D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival celebrate friendship. This theme of friendship is seen in symbolization by the gift of flowering cherry trees from Tokyo to Washington, D.C. On these stages, experience and perform in a  showcase of American, Japanese, and international performing arts.

The festival stages are situated among the cherry trees. From these stages, enjoy iconic views of the Washington memorials.  The Washington D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival strives to incorporate artists who perform family-friendly dances and music that is upbeat, festive, and reflective of the celebratory nature of the event. Spend three nights in the Washington, D.C. area performing in the nation’s capital and enjoying the cherry blossoms!

Itinerary

THURSDAY | TOUR WASHINGTON, D.C. | WELCOME DINNER

Arrive in Washington, D.C. and embark on a guided city tour of our nation’s capital city. Visit the Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool, two iconic features of the capital’s landscape; the Washington Monument, a 178-foot-tall Doric column dedicated to America’s founding father George Washington; the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, the newest memorial on the mall; and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, a simple and powerful tribute to the service personnel killed and missing in action. Afterward, check into the hotel located in Alexandria, Virginia. Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner as your tour manager previews the days ahead.



FRIDAY | MOUNT VERNON | CONCERT

Breakfast is served at the hotel. Following, board your motorcoach bound for Mount Vernon to tour George Washington’s beautiful estate, museum, and gardens.

In the afternoon, youth ensembles will visit a high school to share a friendship concert with local students, while adult ensembles are invited to perform in senior centers, museums, and other community venues.

This evening, dinner options and cultural activities can be recommended.




SATURDAY | ARLINGTON | FESTIVAL PERFORMANCE

This morning, make a commemorative visit to Arlington National Cemetery where more than 400,000 American servicemen and famous leaders are buried. Among the notable are Presidents William Howard Taft and John F. Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Robert Kennedy. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, containing the remains of soldiers from WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, also rests in the cemetery.

Over the course of the afternoon and evening, ensembles perform for enthusiastic public audiences in the Tidal Basin Welcome Area and on the ANA Performance Stages as part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

A post-concert dinner is arranged this evening, along with additional entertainment suggestions.




SUNDAY | WORSHIP SERVICE | DEPARTURE

After breakfast, visit a local church where your ensemble has been invited to sing as part of the morning worship service and to enjoy some time for fellowship with the friendly congregation.

Afterward, depart Washington, D.C. for home or your next destination.
